After almost 20 years of passionate advocacy, hundreds of meetings, phone calls, letters and emails, NCVV’s Board of Directors is very happy to let our stakeholders know that construction on SR-170 Freeway soundwalls will begin in March. The project will take about three years and when completed will extend freeway noise barriers from US101/134 freeway separation north to Sherman Way. The walls will be built on both sides of the freeway.
Initial efforts will focus on bridges and widening of the freeway where needed to accommodate soundwall construction. Construction offices will be on property across from the North Hollywood Red Line station.
