On July 25, 2018 the Board of Neighborhood Council Valley Village voted unanimously to elect Eileen Garcia as a Student Representative. NCVV has two student seats, both became vacant in June as former Board members Cole Walker and Zach Cruz graduated from high school. Eileen is a rising Junior at North Hollywood High School and has been very active in her community. In fall of 2017 she and other students led the effort to stop relocation of a Charter School at the North Hollywood campus, a proposed move that would have caused significant crowding at one of the city’s largest schools. Eileen has also been very active in NCVV events. She was sworn in by Vice President Ginny Hatfield and began her 2 year Board tenure immediately.
