October 2019: With a few hours to go before Shabbat, the Los Angeles Bureau of Street Services last week completed a much-needed paving project in the alleyway behind Shaarey Yerushalayim in Valley Village.
The 2019-20 budget was the first in several years to include money for alleyway resurfacing. As a smiling Rabbi David Adatto looked on, workers applied a smooth cover to what had been a bumpy, cracked surface. It was a great start to the New Year for the synagogue’s 200 members.
