On July 25th the Board of Neighborhood Council Valley Village voted unanimously to elect Eileen Garcia as a Student Representative. In fall of 2017 she and other students led the effort to stop relocation of a Charter School at the North Hollywood campus, a proposed move that would have caused significant crowding at one of the city’s largest schools.
Valley Village artists joined over 100 neighbors for an exciting kickoff reception that marked the start of a three week show of local art in a variety of media. Art will be on display at Carter Sexton through August 10.
NCVV was proud to sponsor the pancake breakfast and participate in the traditional Valley Village July 4th Parade.
The June 28th Town Hall Forum on Homelessness sponsored by NCVV’s Board of Directors brought together community and city leaders along with over 200 Valley Village stakeholders, to discuss how we can work together to have a positive impact on this humanitarian crisis facing our society.

Before you march in the parade, NCVV’s Board of Directors, our Events & Outreach Committee and Faith Presbyterian Church are once again bringing you a great breakfast to start the day.
The Board of Directors has been working diligently with residential and business stakeholders in the area and will soon be requesting parking restrictions that will limit parking on all four sides of the intersection to 2 hours or less.
The meeting will feature experts from the city and from community based organizations who work daily on the issue of homelessness, and there will be a question and answer period so that our stakeholders can actively participate in the conversation.
The meeting will include an update on the soundwall construction along 170 freeway, which is slated to begin early this summer. Also on the agenda are updates on the proposed short-term rental ordinance as well as the request for parking restrictions at the intersection of Laurel Canyon and Chandler.
We collected thousands of pounds of used batteries and light bulbs; gave away 50 trees; shredded 40 large bins of paper; and donated a truckload of groceries to the North Hollywood Interfaith Food Pantry at Neighborhood Council Valley Village’s Earth Day Celebration on Saturday April 21st.
