On Tuesday, October 18, 2022 the Los Angeles City Council unanimously elected our City Councilman Paul Krekorian as the City Council President. Major news outlets continue to report details of a secretly recorded meeting during which several city and labor leaders disparaged ethnic and minority populations who live in the city.
The election of Mr. Krekorian is widely seen as a move toward healing the city and building bridges between communities. “I think we just really need to resolve that through this work we make clear that no one ever again feels excluded, or belittled, or demeaned, or disrespected, or left behind by the people that they elected to represent them,” said Mr. Krekorian in an interview with the Los Angeles Times.
