National Archives Event

The National Archives and Records Administration is the nation’s record keeper with over 40 facilities nationwide, including field archives, Federal Records Centers, and Presidential Libraries, among others. Established by Congress in 1934, its mission is providing public access to holdings dating from 1775 to the present. The National Archives at Riverside holds permanent records created for historic or legal reasons by Federal agencies and courts in Arizona, California, and Nevada, covering the aerospace industry, genealogy, Hollywood, military history and service records, and other topics created by the Immigration and Naturalization Service, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Bureau of Land Management, NASA, and U.S. District Courts. These include the Chinese Exclusion Acts, Japanese Internment, Enemy Aliens, Native American history, criminal and civil court records, and land issues.
