house on fireAs we enter another fire season, it is a good time to check in with your family and set up or re-visit your home fire escape plan.

In most home fires you have about 2 minutes to safely escape once you hear the fire alarm. That is not much time – and practicing your escape plan can help to make sure your family can get out safely. Establishing roles for every member of your household and a designated place to meet outside the burning home are just two of many strategies that ensure you and your family escape unharmed.

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has put together tips to help you prepare for a house or apartment fire. Please visit https://www.nfpa.org/Public-Education/Staying-safe/Preparedness/Escape-planning to find out information that can keep your family safe in the event of a fire.
