After years of written requests and extensive advocacy, Magnolia Boulevard between Laurel Canyon and Whitsett Avenue will finally be resurfaced! Work will begin in February to repair what is arguably one of the roughest sections of roadway in Valley Village. “It’s about time!” said NCVV Board member Alice Hart, who lives on Magnolia in one of the original homes constructed in Valley Village. Hart along with Board member Marc Woersching have been very active in the effort to repair and repave this important section of Magnolia Boulevard.
The project will begin with “cold-milling” the existing surface, repairing gutter areas and failed areas (deep holes in the street). The entire project will take about four weeks. During the project parking will restricted and any vehicles parked illegally will be towed, to protect the vehicle from damage by construction debris. The official notice from the Department of Public Works, Bureau of Street Services can be viewed here: Notice to Repave Magnolia Boulevard. If you have questions or need assistance during the project contact the site supervisor or call 818-756-8651.
