The newly elected Board members of Neighborhood Council Valley Village were sworn in at the June 23, 2021 meeting of the Board of Directors. The Department of Neighborhood Empowerment’s Mario Hernandez presided over the installation of the Board and Los Angeles City Councilman Paul Krekorian administered the oath of office to the newly elected Board members: Dorothy Apple, Carol Kiernan Convey, Sandy Hubbard, Suzanne Lewis, Paulette Stokes, John Thyne, Paul Vitello and Jake Yocham. Proclamations honoring years of service were presented by the city to outgoing Board members Jeff Walker and Glenn Block, and to Student Board member Tiffany Mar who graduated in May and will be attending UC Berkley in the fall.
The Board also elected their leadership for the next two years, Tony Braswell President, Ginny Hatfield Vice President, Dorothy Apple Treasurer and Marc Woersching Secretary.
Councilman Krekorian congratulated the new Board on their election and expressed his appreciation for the NCVV Board’s dedication to Valley Village stakeholders. “You are one of the strongest and most successful Boards in the San Fernando Valley and the City of Los Angeles” said Krekorian. “We are grateful for your service.”
