Valley Village park hosted close to 400 neighbors, elected officials, LAPD cadets, NCVV Board members and volunteers, along with representatives of city departments, Target North Hollywood and the North Hollywood Interfaith Food Pantry to celebrate the 40th annual National Night Out. The NCVV event, one of the largest in the Valley, gave stakeholders an opportunity to speak with North Hollywood police officers and Senior Lead Office Rob Benavidez. Also taking part in the evening’s activities were North Hollywood Police Captain Greg Morgan and LAPD East Valley Bureau Commander Elaine Morales.

US Congressman Tony Cardenes opened the evening’s comments with greetings from the nation’s capital and support for the fundamental principles of National Night Out. Candidate for Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan Hochman and candidate for Council District 2 Adrin Nazarian greeted attendees. The record setting crowd enjoyed subway sandwiches, lemonade and iced tea, and the cool calypso sounds of the Jimmy Dale Band.

National Night Out is a nationwide community-building program that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. This is NCVV’s 15th National Night Out celebration.
