Update 9/29: The Census Deadline has been extended to October 31
September 21:
The Neighborhood Council Valley Village Student Committee has written a letter to stakeholders urging their timely completion of the census, by September 30, as only 60% of stakeholders have responded and responses drive funding to help the whole community.
Dear Neighbors:
We hope you and your family are safe and healthy during these challenging times. Although the COVID-19 pandemic has changed much of our personal plans and our priorities, one thing has not changed: we must fill out and return the 2020 Census.
In Valley Village, only 60% of the community has responded. That means we could lose millions of dollars that we actually need and services that keep our neighborhoods safe and strong.
We are high school students and we know how important an accurate census is to our generation. In 10 years, we will be college graduates and in the workforce. Your census response can help millions of young people, and ensure we have a future filled with opportunity and hope. WE ARE COUNTING ON YOU!
This is our only chance to be counted for the next 10 years. We cannot waste this opportunity. Please help our generation – fill out and return your census form today. It only takes a few minutes to be counted, and the census does NOT include a citizenship question. Anyone who is undocumented is protected as it is illegal for the Census Bureau to share your personal response with anyone.
The census deadline is almost here. If you haven’t already returned your census questionnaire, please go online and complete the census at www.2020census.gov. If you have questions, email us at info@myvalleyvillage.com and we will connect you with someone who can provide assistance.
In solidarity and with sincere thanks
