Seven newly elected directors were seated at the April 27 meeting of the NCVV Board. Re-elected Board members Paulette Stokes and Suzanne Lewis (Renter seats), Dale Liebowitz-Neglia (At Large seat) and Jeff Walker (Homeowner seat) were joined by returning Board member Dorothy Apple (Business seat) and newly elected members Lisa Miller (Education seat) and Glenn Block (Homeowner seat).
Department of Neighborhood Empowerment General Manager Grayce Liu administered the oath of office and then conducted a training session for all 15 NCVV Board members. Under the direction of NCVV Parliamentarian Stuart Simen, the board also elected officers for the next two years – Steven Stokes Treasurer, Dale Liebowitz-Neglia Secretary, Ginny Hatfield Vice President and Tony Braswell President.
NCVV’s Board was very proud to host a delegation of female elected officials from Saudi Arabia. The group of 8 women and their translator were touring local government entities to learn more about the democratic process.
The next meeting of the NCVV Board of Directors is May 18, 2016, 6:30 pm at Faith Presbyterian Church. The meeting is one week earlier than normal due to the Memorial Day holiday.
