Well over four hundred people turned out early on Independence Day to enjoy a pre-parade pancake breakfast at Faith Presbyterian Church. The pancakes were prepared by Faith Presbyterian’s Pastor Rich Poole and served by NCVV’s Events and Outreach co-chair Maribel Ulloa Garcia and beloved volunteer Melinda Porter.
After enjoying pancakes the crowd moved over to join the Valley Village Residents Association July 4th parade. This year VVRA honored longtime North Hollywood Band director Robin Sharp and members of the champion North Hollywood boys baseball team. NoHo band members kicked off the parade and led participants through neighborhood streets to Valley Village park where everyone celebrated the holiday with music and refreshments.
Also joining the parade this year were Los Angeles City Council President Paul Krekorian and LAUSD Board member Scott Schmerelson. Congratulations to all of the VVRA Board members and volunteers who made this year’s parade a great success.
