We are now fine free!
LAPL no longer charges overdue fines. However, if your materials are not returned or renewed within 21 days after their due date, you will be charged a replacement fee and may be blocked from borrowing more items and using digital resources. When you return your lost items, the replacement fee will be removed.
Autorenewal
Good news! LAPL now offers autorenewals–if your item reaches its due date and no other users are waiting for the title, it will be automatically renewed for you on the due date, up to 3 times. Autorenewals and any renewals you may initiate through your online account grant you an additional loan period from the renewal date.
Loan periods:
Books and audiobooks—3 weeks
DVDs and music CDs—1 week
Borrower limits:
You may have 30 items checked out and 30 holds placed at a time.
Returned items:
You may notice that your returned items are not removed from your account right away. We are following Department of Public Health guidelines and are setting materials aside for several days. After that isolation period, items will be checked in and removed from your account. Since
we are now fine free, you will not see a late fine.
