Our FIRST in person event of the ‘coming out of COVID era’ was a great success. We filled about 80% of the shredding truck, gave out over 100 goodie bags, sent 50 trees to new homes, connected lots of people with our City Council office and collected much needed food and pet supplies for the North Hollywood Food Pantry.
I want to extend my deepest thanks to Maribel Ulloa-Garcia for organizing, producing and pulling off such a great event. It’s our first event in almost 3 years and we hope it won’t be the last! Maribel you did an outstanding job – an awesome day at Colfax School!
To all of our Board members – Dorothy, Ginny, Daryl, Paulette, Suzanne and Carole, Student Committee members Jake, Gabriella, Luke and Melody, and all the volunteers who helped out – – a heartfelt thank you. Special thanks to Wendy and Ginny for the great outreach to let our neighbors know about the Earth Day Festivities. And special thanks to Phil Lester and NoHo Food Pantry for joining us to collect food and other supplies for those in need.
This is the first of many in person events to come later this year. Thank you all for this outstanding effort and a very successful Earth Day in Valley Village.
