Councilmember Krekorian and Assemblymember Nazarian with Neighborhood Council Valley Village leaders at an East Valley National Night Out event
On Tuesday night, August 7, 2018 communities across Los Angeles celebrated the 35th anniversary of National Night Out, the annual event that highlights police-community partnerships to strengthen neighborhoods against crime and illegal activity.
NCVV Board members were joined by Councilmember Paul Krekorian, State Assemblyman Adrin Nazarian, Neighborhood Prosecutor Todd Gilman and community organizations who celebrated the evening with music by Jimmy Dale, sandwiches from Subway and frozen yogurt from Menchies.
Over 150 people took part in the festivities, all made possible by the outstanding support of our NCVV Events & Outreach Committee and many dedicated volunteers. Special recognition was presented to LAPD officers Manny Arreygue, John Antionoli and Tony Chang. Officers Antionoli and Chang have stepped in as Acting Senior Lead Officers during the past year providing great protection and support for Valley Village stakeholders. Officer Arreygue, who is scheduled to retire in December after many years as the Valley Village Senior Lead Officer, was recognized for his longstanding commitment to our community and to LAPD.
NCVV’s Board proclaimed August 7, 2018 Manny Arreygue Day in Valley Village. The evening concluded with the much anticipated glow stick walk around the neighborhood led by officers from LAPD.
