As you may know, LADWP is initiating a Stormwater Capture Project in 9 parks in the southeast San Fernando Valley, and Valley Village Park will be among the areas that are included in the program. These stormwater capture projects will capture rainwater and storm runoff, and help replenish the San Fernando Groundwater Basin, improve water quality in the Los Angeles River, alleviate local flooding, and provide recreational and environmental benefits to the community through related park improvements.
In 2021 the project will begin construction in our Park. Over the next several weeks our stakeholders are being surveyed about possible improvements to Valley Village Park that can be completed as part of the project. We need your input to help ensure that our beautiful park continues to meet the needs of our neighbors. The survey is very short, but critically important – we have received close to 100 responses so far, but not enough from Valley Village residents. Please take a minute to complete the short survey online and help us protect this great resource for our community. The survey link is https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/stormwatercaptureparks
