Are you:
- between 14 and 18 years of age?
- a Valley Village resident (click here for map)
- interested in playing an active role in your local community?
Then you might be a perfect candidate for the Student Committee Chair on the Board of Neighborhood Council Valley Village (NCVV). You’ll know first-hand about the issues relevant to your community, be part of the citizen advisory body that is Valley Village’s bridge to City Hall, and even spearhead your own project. NCVV bylaws allow for two Student Committee Chairs.
A successful candidate can be expected to commit to one board meeting per month, (7:00-9:00 pm on the 4th Wednesday of each month); one committee assignment (with possible monthly meetings); attendance at NCVV sponsored events throughout the year; and any special assignments that may arise. In return for the above, NCVV can promise you a worthwhile experience with board members who are willing to mentor and support you.
To apply for this appointed position, please submit a 500 word or less essay on why you would like to serve on the board, along with your address, phone and email to: vmhatncvv@gmail.com. For questions, please call Ginny Hatfield at 818-970-4577.
